Bachata & Kizomba
The romantic dances of the Dominican Republic and Angola
This course will focus on two of the most sensual partner dances that exist. In the course of 8 weeks you will learn basic steps and combinations for both Bachata and Kizomba.

Bachata is a style of dance originated in the Dominican Republic, that consists of a four-step beat done with a walking Cuban hip motion and a characteristic "pop" on the fourth beat. Dance both in open as well as closed position, the dance focuses on body movement with a softer feel rather than turn patterns or dips.

Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music created in Angola, that is becoming more and more popular in Europe. It is a fusion of zouk from the French Caribbean islands with Semba, a traditional Angolan music genre. The dance is very sensual, danced usually in closed hold position.
