We are organizing our first ever Amateur Cuban Salsa Competition, this time for
couples dancing only, with the audience being the judge.

8-9pm - Performances and Salsa Competition

| Prizes: |
- 1st Place: $200 in cash plus $300 in gift certificates and diploma, for a total of $500 in prize
- 2nd Place: $100 in cash plus $150 in gift certificates and diploma, for a total of $250 in prize
- 3rd Place: $100 in gift certificates and diploma
- Lots of public recognition and applause!

Rules and Requirements: |
- All dancers participating must be amateurs, i.e., dancers that have never gotten paid for performance or teaching salsa, or
assisted in classes, at AfroLatino or any other dance school.
- Couples must register ahead of time, no later than June 20.
- Couples registering must pay a fee of $20 refundable on the day of the event upon arrival.
- The competition will consist of 2 rounds: preliminary where all competing couples participate, and final where the chosen top 3
couples will be required to dance to one song of their choice.
- In the preliminary round all competing couples will be required to dance, at the same time, to a song chosen by the DJ.
- The final round will consist of the top 3 couples chosen from the preliminary round, each dancing to a song of their choice
no longer than 3 minutes in duration.
- The winning couple will be chosen by the audience.
